Registered Nurse (RN ) - Inpatient Mental Health

Inpatient psychiatric facility is seeking a Mental Health Registered Nurse to join their team.

• On Site
• Shift: 7am-3:30pm, 3pm-11:30pm, 11pm-7:30am, 7am-7:30pm, 7pm-7:30am.
• Schedule: Full time
• Setting: Inpatient Mental Health

Responsibilities included but not limited to are:

• Assess the educational needs of the patients and incorporate these into the nursing care plan.
• Assess, diagnose, plan, implement and evaluate the care of patients using the Nursing Process.
• Serve as Primary Nurse responsible for coordinating individual patient care utilizing the Nursing Process.
• Utilize knowledge of medical, psychiatric, psychosocial aspects of illness in the care of patients.
• Provide therapeutic environment including counseling and teaching according to the patient's developmental level and ability to comprehend.
• Serve as a role model/consultant, teacher, resource staff as a professional nurse responsible for the provision of quality patient care, professional relationships, compliance with professional facility standards.
• Supervise and evaluate RNs and paraprofessional staff as assigned.
• Provide overall direction to shift when assigned as charge.
• Must be able to perform basis computer functions required for the position.

Requirements:

• Active New York State Registered Nurse license
• AHA BLS Certification
• 1 year of clinical experience working with patients

Preferred

• Experience providing care to patients in a mental health setting
