Description

St. Joseph’s Health Hospital remains, the backbone of our integrated system, delivering award-winning care and providing enhanced value to our primary, specialized, and partner care facilities throughout the region. The Registered Nurse Observation Unit is a fast-paced short stay acute care, admissions unit working collaboratively with the ED and inpatient teams to assess, monitor, and manage patients with an expected 24-48-hour length of stay.

What You Will Do

  • Perform initial and ongoing assessments, including vital signs, pain levels, and neurological status. Monitor patients for changes in condition and escalate care as needed
  • Therapeutic nursing interventions, hands on skills including class II telemetry monitoring, POCT, IV Placement, and venipunctures. Coordinate patient education, goal setting, care planning, multidisciplinary care team coordination, and discharge planning.
  • Collaborative team approach using SNAP rounding daily with interdisciplinary team to ensure patients are on track with goals, patients are progressing, and needs are met.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited college or university affiliated nursing program. BSN per NYS Guidelines.
  • Licensure: Current Licensure as a Registered Nurse RN in New York.
  • Certification: BLS & ACLS
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years clinical experience Med/Surg or Acute Care setting preferred

Work Schedule: Full time – 36 Night Shift, 7p-7:30a, Every other Weekend/Holiday

Pay Range: $37.60-$58.35

Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
