Do you LOVE nursing and being a NURSE? Are you that nurse who shouts it from the rooftop and wants everyone around you to know how special of a community we are? If this sounds like you... WE NEED YOU!!!! GRAFL has openings on their 2020-2021 Board of Directors.
Take on a new challenge that will introduce you to amazing and talented colleagues that share your passion and want to help you grow in your profession too!
1. Decide which role may fit you best.
2. Reach out to any of us on the board for more information. Our names and pics are all on the "About us" section of the Nursing network chapter portal.
3. fill out the attached e-nomination (specific to the board position) form and e-mail it to our current president: Lisa Cardamone at: lisabonnlander@gmail.com
4. Post the "We Want YOU!!" flyer anywhere Nurses will see it.
Membership Coordinator:
The Membership Coordinator serves an essential role on the GRAFL board. Along with being an active chapter member, the Membership Coordinator should have a passion for GRAFL and be available for monthly board meetings. Ultimately, we are looking for an outstanding communicator with a talent for building strong relationships between members and the organization.
Term requirement: 2 year term.
Membership Coordinator Responsibilities:
Function as the liaison between an organization and its members. Handling all questions, information requests, regarding National AACN and/or GRAFL membership.
- Processing membership applications, renewals, and resignations including “bundle deals.”
- Maintaining and updating GRAFL membership records using the Nursing Network Tools.
- Assisting with member communication
- Assisting Board in organizing and running GRAFL sponsored educational and volunteer events and activities for existing and prospective members.
- Collecting data, tracking GRAFL/National AACN membership statistics, and preparing updates for board communication.
- Working with the board to develop and implement strategies to recruit new members promoting the benefits of both AACN and GRAFL membership locally.
President-Elect:
The President-elect serves alongside the President in order to become familiar with the duties of the position. This learning period is critical to his/her success when he/she steps into the presidential role. The President-elect should be an active member of the chapter. What is essential is that the President-elect has strong leadership and communication skills and is knowledgeable about chapter governance.
Term requirement: 3 year term. (Year 1: will serve as the President-Elect year, followed by Year 2: the Presidential year, and ending with Year 3: Immediate Past-President).
President-elect Responsibilities:
Work collaboratively with the chapter President throughout his/her term to provide for continuity of leadership and a smooth transition for chapter leadership.
- In the absence of the President, fill in to ensure the accountabilities of the President are met, for example, facilitating a chapter meeting.
- Historically, the President-Elect serves as the primary planner of our one-day annual conference, Linkages, with full support of the board to assist in strategic planning and implementation.
- Working with the board to develop and implement strategies to recruit new members promoting the benefits of both AACN and GRAFL membership locally.
- Assisting Board in organizing and running GRAFL sponsored educational and volunteer events and activities for existing and prospective members.
Webmaster:
The GRAF-L webmaster is the voice of the chapter. This person is responsible for effectively and creatively communicating upcoming news and events for both local chapter and national AACN events as well as regional offerings to our nursing community via Nursing Network and other social media platforms.
Term requirement: 2 year term.
Webmaster Responsibilities:
- Basic computer proficiency especially with Microsoft Office to help develop signage and visual aids for events and volunteer activities to be posted using approved logo.
- Have some basic working knowledge of, or willingness to learn, social media platforms and be comfortable with frequent, responsible and family friendly posting in multiple social media platforms (ie: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.)
- Manage GRAFL approved postings to Nursing Network
- Build event tickets for GRAF-L sponsored member events
- Troubleshoot web and Nursing Network issues
- Work with the board to develop and implement strategies to recruit new members promoting the benefits of both AACN and GRAFL membership locally.
- Assist Board in organizing and running GRAFL sponsored educational and volunteer events and activities for existing and prospective members.
